and a general update

David is currently compiling new songs for an as yet untitled 6th album. He has recently teamed up with Austin, Texas native David Warren and the two have started playing shows together. Brookings has taken most of 2011 off from playing shows, having played a ton of shows over the past few years. In mid August 2011 David played his first show since December of 2010, at the International Pop Overthrow at the Hotel Utah in San Francisco. He also co-wrote the track 'Damn Love Song' with Amy LaVere, from her critically praised album Stranger Me released in the summer of 2011

Debut Album SOUNDS OFF 10 year Anniversary Release - May 2010

SOUNDS OFF was released in Richmond, VA on October 9, 2000. It is finally being released digitally through CDBABY and will be available on iTunes on 5/12/2010. Recorded in downtown Richmond and produced by Josh Scolaro and Jason Horst, it was recorded for $300 on an 8 track machine. Much of the albums' charm lies in its fun, loose spirit, and in the way some errors, inside jokes, and 'moments' were left in. Its not the one to start with if you're new to David Brookings, but he has not since made a record as fun or lo-fi as SOUNDS OFF
